01Introduction
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "your" or "user") and Viswabharat Skill Institute ("VSI", "we", "our" or "us") governing your access to and use of the website located at https://vbskills.org (the "Site") and any related services made available through the Site.
These Terms are published in accordance with the provisions of Rule 3(1)(a) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, read with the Information Technology Act, 2000, and other applicable Indian laws.
02Acceptance
By accessing or using the Site, submitting an application, an enquiry or any other information through the Site, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please stop using the Site.
03Definitions
- "Content" means all text, graphics, logos, videos, images, program materials, code and other material available on the Site.
- "Program" means any bootcamp, course, workshop, hackathon or event offered by VSI.
- "Hiring Partner" means an organisation that has entered into an arrangement with VSI to jointly select or hire graduates from a Program.
- "Personal Data" has the meaning given to it under the DPDPA and, where applicable, includes "Personal Information" and "Sensitive Personal Data or Information" as defined under the SPDI Rules.
04Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to use the Site or apply for a Program. If you are using the Site on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
05Permitted & prohibited use
Permitted use
You may use the Site for lawful, personal or organisational purposes — for example, exploring our Programs, applying to a cohort, engaging as a Hiring, Technology or Philanthropic partner, or contacting us.
You must not
- Use the Site in a manner that violates any applicable law, regulation or third-party right.
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
- Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information in any application or form.
- Scrape, harvest, spider, or systematically extract Content from the Site.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Site.
- Introduce viruses, worms, Trojans, ransomware, malicious code, spyware or automated agents.
- Interfere with, disrupt or place unreasonable load on the Site, its servers or its networks.
- Circumvent, disable or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Site.
- Use the Site to send spam, chain letters, unsolicited advertising or promotional material.
06Applications & user information
When you submit an application or enquiry, you agree that the information you provide is true, complete and current. You are responsible for keeping this information accurate and up to date. We may reject, suspend or terminate an application at our discretion, including where information is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading, or where you fail to meet the eligibility criteria for a Program.
07Fees, payments & refunds
Where a Program involves a fee, the applicable amount, payment terms and refund policy will be communicated to you at the time of enrolment through a separate agreement or offer document. Unless expressly stated in that document, fees paid are non-refundable once a Program has commenced.
VSI is a Section 8 not-for-profit company. Any donation made through the Site is subject to the terms of the donation instrument or memorandum of understanding, and to applicable tax rules.
08Content on the Site
Content on the Site is provided for general information about VSI, its Programs, partners and events. While we take reasonable care to ensure the Content is accurate at the time of publication, VSI does not warrant that Content is complete, current or free of error. You should verify Program-specific details (fees, dates, eligibility, curriculum) directly with our admissions team before relying on them.
09Intellectual property
All Content on the Site — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, program materials, curriculum designs, assessments and code — is the property of VSI or its licensors and is protected by Indian and international copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.
Except as expressly permitted in these Terms, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, modify, translate, create derivative works from, sell, license or otherwise exploit any Content without our prior written permission.
The names "Viswabharat Skill Institute" and "VSI", the VSI logo, and other product and service names, logos and slogans are trademarks of VSI. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.
10Licence to VSI
When you submit content to VSI through the Site — such as messages, documents, feedback or capstone project material — you grant VSI a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, adapt and distribute that content for the limited purposes of operating the Site, delivering our Programs, meeting our legal obligations and reporting outcomes, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11Third-party links & services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, tools, credentialing platforms or embedded services (for example, maps, video players, analytics providers). We do not endorse or assume any responsibility for third-party content, products or services. Your use of any linked site or service is subject to that party's terms and privacy policy.
12Disclaimer of warranties
VSI does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that defects will be corrected, or that the Site or the servers that make it available are free of viruses or other harmful components.
13Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VSI, its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, agents and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages — including without limitation loss of profits, data, use, goodwill or other intangible losses — arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Site or the Content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort or any other legal theory, and whether or not VSI has been advised of the possibility of such damage.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, VSI's aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Site or these Terms shall not exceed INR 1,000 (Indian Rupees one thousand).
14Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless VSI, its officers, directors, employees, affiliates and partners from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with (a) your access to or use of the Site, (b) your violation of these Terms or any law, or (c) your infringement of any third-party right, including any intellectual property or privacy right.
15Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site, or any part of it, at any time, without notice or liability, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, or if we are required to do so by law. Provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity and governing law) will continue to apply after termination.
16Force majeure
VSI shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance to the extent caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, pandemic, epidemic, accidents, network infrastructure failures, strikes, or shortages of transportation, facilities, fuel, energy, labour or materials.
17Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Site shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to the grievance redressal process below, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

19Changes to the Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective from" date. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention through the Site or through a direct communication. Your continued use of the Site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
